International property and construction consultancy Gleeds recently partnered with the UK Government as sponsor of the GREAT Campaign in Doha. The programme brought together the British Embassy in Doha, the Department for International Trade (DIT), VisitBritain and The British Council for an exciting programme of activity.

‘GREAT’ is  designed to drive economic growth by encouraging an international audience to visit, study, trade, invest, live, and work in the UK. Showcasing the best of creativity and diversity, featuring the work and stories of globally renowned artists, chefs, fashionistas and music composers whose work is inspired by the UK, the programme included a launch at the Gardens of GREAT and a high-profile reception at the residence of the British Ambassador to Qatar.

His Excellency Jonathan Wilks CMG, British Ambassador to Qatar, said “The UK & Qatar enjoy a strong diplomatic, trade and cultural relationship, underpinned by the visit of The Amir of Qatar to the UK in May 2022. This programme sets out to strengthen that relationship and I am thrilled that Gleeds has chosen to support us in that endeavour.”

As part of the programme, Gleeds also hosted an event entitled ‘Digitally Disrupted Construction’ at the Garden of GREAT. The workshop was led by global head of insights and analytics, James Garner and focused on the future of digitalisation in the built environment.

Gleeds has been in Qatar for 15 years, involved with the creation of several high-profile developments, including the National Museum and the vast Downtown Doha scheme.
