Local businesses welcome Gleeds Ambassador, Sir Steve Redgrave to Oxford

Gleeds, has marked its first year in Oxford with a celebratory reception for clients and colleagues at Rhodes House, alongside its Global Ambassador, Sir Steve Redgrave.

Sir Steve, who has been an ambassador for Gleeds since 2006, gave guests an insight into rowing and what has changed since he first began training. He said: “What I have noticed progress over the last few years is how the sport has improved for women. Having a daughter who has competed in Oxford’s Blue Boat, I have been lucky enough to witness first-hand the wealth of opportunities now available, such as the ability to secure funding to train and compete on a level standing - equivalent to the Men's boat race”.

The evening was hosted in celebration of the company’s growing business in Oxford. Having worked with local clients for 20 years, Gleeds has consolidated and established a base in George Street.

Commenting on the evening Gleeds Director for Oxford, Gary Souch, said: “Our team in Oxford is going from strength to strength and the evening was a great opportunity for our local clients to come together and celebrate a successful year. It was made even more special to hear Sir Steve reflect on his career, and what inspired him to become an Olympian”.
